Open Home Starter is a one-time $149 guided product. Hardware and optional third-party services are purchased separately. Stripe processes payment, and the order is complete only after Open Home Kits verifies the signed payment confirmation.
Purchase and delivery
Stripe charges the one-time Open Home Kits price shown for Open Home Starter plus applicable tax. Hardware, shipping, Home Assistant Cloud, and other third-party costs are separate. Your purchase is complete only after a signed Stripe payment event is matched to the exact paid Open Home Plan. The original browser can then claim the maintained guide. We also attempt to send the purchase email address a one-use recovery link so a different browser can claim it. A guide URL or recovery link that has already been used does not grant access by itself.
The complete guide and printable companions require a current paid, non-refunded, non-disputed order on every request. A curated preview and Home Assistant-importable files remain public where the software requires them. A copy that the customer saves or prints is offline and cannot be remotely revoked.
Completion Assurance and refunds
If your Starter plan says the setup fits, you use the exact listed hardware, and you follow the maintained path, Open Home Kits will help by asynchronous email until the listed completion checks pass—or refund the Open Home Kits fee if that supported path cannot get there. There is no fixed reply cap. We aim to answer within two business days, but this is not a guaranteed response time. Calls, chat, screen sharing, remote access, and onsite work are not included.
Start within 30 days after purchase, or tell us within that period about a supported-hardware delay. Please perform requested safe steps and send only bounded screenshots or error text—never credentials or remote access. Fourteen days without your response pauses the case; you may resume before 60 days of silence. Sixty days of silence closes it without a Completion-Assurance refund. Completion means the listed checks passed, not that hardware, networks, phones, or third-party services will operate forever.
Defective hardware, unsupported substitutions, physical installation, wiring, network repair, monitoring, emergency response, later changes, and third-party charges are excluded. If reasonable supported attempts do not reach the checks, Open Home Kits may refund the $149 fee plus tax it collected and close the case. Separately, you may request a refund of the full amount paid to Open Home Kits, including its collected tax, within 14 calendar days after paid confirmation. Hardware, seller shipping, seller-collected tax, Home Assistant Cloud, and other third-party costs are not refundable by Open Home Kits. A refund or dispute ends Completion Assurance and maintained-guide access.
Product boundary
Open Home Kits provides guided Home Assistant setup, testing, and undo steps for one supported Zigbee or Z-Wave Starter plan. Starter currently covers supported open/closed, basic motion, wet/dry, and ordinary temperature/humidity information, with no more than 15 physical devices and up to three bounded notification-only automation instances. Other sensing and all controlled-device or life-safety paths require Custom review and may be declined. Sensor state and optional notifications are not monitoring, emergency response, a security system, medical or safety advice, or a guarantee that a device, network, phone notification, or third-party service will always work.
Open Home Custom
A Custom inquiry sends the plan, its fit reasons, your email, and any short note for structured written review; it is not an order or a promise that Open Home Kits will accept the work. We may decline, ask for one or two exact facts, or offer a fixed written proposal. Scope, compatibility, privacy and safety boundaries, support, timing, price, and refund terms are confirmed before accepting work or taking payment. Do not include credentials, access links, addresses, camera images or audio, or household schedules.
Payment, plan, and site data
Stripe handles payment details under its own terms. Open Home Kits stores opaque order, checkout-session, offer, payment-state, refund, dispute, and webhook identifiers, the purchase email, and the immutable paid-plan snapshot needed to fulfill and reconcile the order and maintain revocable access to the paid guide.
Simply evaluating a plan does not save its contents. A coarse plan and its versions are saved only when you request a private link or email, submit Custom, or enter checkout. Ordinary free plans and plan-email records expire after 90 days; Custom inquiry content expires after 180 days; a paid-plan snapshot is retained with its order. Private resume and unsubscribe links put the secret in the browser fragment; Open Home Kits stores only a one-way hash of that secret. Resend receives an email address and message when Open Home Kits sends requested, opted-in, inquiry, or purchase email.
Basic first-party session and campaign identifiers may be kept for 180 days. On eligible U.S. pages, Open Home Kits may use a Meta Pixel for advertising measurement. Open Home Kits supplies only coarse page and funnel names plus opaque event identifiers as event fields; Meta may also receive ordinary page, browser, and network information through the Pixel under its terms. Automatic advanced matching is disabled. No email address, private token, plan selection, safety interest, address, or free-text note is sent to Meta. Global Privacy Control and the advertising-measurement control shown on eligible public pages turn this measurement off in that browser. Cloudflare records ordinary hosting and security logs under its service terms. Do not send passwords, access tokens, remote-access credentials, household routines, or sensitive device details in checkout or support email.
